Earthquake Resilient Chimneys

Mutiple collapses of URM, Unreinforced Masonry, chimneys during the Canterbury earthquake sequence and the need to maintain heritage features of buildings has led to the need for a lightweight earthquake resilient solution.

We have experience in the design of replacement chimneys that utilise a lightweight structural system with a thin brick veneer/slip shroud. The brick slips may be cut from the original masonry to maintain heritage values.
